Description of the service

The Service is a free online tool that estimates New Zealand citizenship eligibility dates based on information provided by the user. The Service also publishes informational guides and articles concerning New Zealand citizenship. The Service is offered on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

Not professional advice

The Service does not constitute immigration advice, legal advice, or any form of professional advice. We are not licensed immigration advisers under the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007.

All calculations and content are provided for general informational purposes only. For binding advice on your individual circumstances, you should consult the Department of Internal Affairs directly, or engage a licensed immigration adviser. See the Disclaimer page for further detail.

Permitted use

You agree to use the Service in accordance with all applicable laws and these terms. In particular, you agree:

• to use the Service only for lawful, personal purposes;
• to provide accurate information when using the calculator, on the understanding that the result is only as reliable as the data provided;
• not to engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Service or its underlying infrastructure;

Accuracy of information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that the information provided through the Service is accurate and up to date. We do not, however, warrant that the information or calculations provided are error-free, complete or current. Immigration and citizenship rules are subject to change, and the Service may not immediately reflect every change. You should always verify your eligibility with the Department of Internal Affairs before submitting an application.

The text, design, source code, branding and other content on this website are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written permission.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NZ Citizenship Calculator and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, opportunity or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

The Service may from time to time display third-party content, including advertisements, partner links or embedded materials. Where such content appears it will be clearly identified as such. We do not endorse, control, or accept responsibility for the accuracy or content of any third-party material.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
